Eastern Cape’s Awonke Nqayiya has done it again.

The math tutor – and author – is featured in the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans 2022.

The 26-year-old is the author of ‘Mathematics with Nqayiya’, a study for grade 11 and 12 learners.

Mail & Guardian has praised Awonke’s efforts of empowering high-school learners from rural areas and townships through tutoring and mentorship.

Awonke is currently a master’s candidate majoring in Mathematical Statistics at Nelson Mandela University.

His study guide ‘Mathematics with Nqayiya’ is available at bookstores nationwide: Bargain Books, Takealot, Exclusive Books, Van Schaik, Protea Books.

The guide continues to receive outstanding testimonials from learners and teachers.

In 2021, the study guide won Awonke two awards for being of service to others and for youth empowerment through education.

His other awards include Raising Legends first place in the category of innovators. The second award was presented to Awonke by Junior Chamber International South Africa, for being part of the Top Ten 10 Outstanding Young Persons of South Africa.
